Leon Avelino

Leon Avelino is the National Projects Coordinator at Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE). He is the administrator of SAGE's National Projects team, coordinating web based and in-person trainings across the U.S., and providing research support.

Leon is a founding publisher of Secret Acres, a micro press specializing in graphic novels and art books from emerging artists. Secret Acres comics have been listed among the best comics of their publication years by Print, NPR, The Chicago Tribune, The Village Voice, The Huffington Post and many others. He serves on the steering committee for the Society of Illustrators’ Museum of Comics and Cartoon Art Festival..
