Boulder County Area Agency on Aging (BCAAA) promotes the health and well-being of older adults by building on individual, family, and community strengths. They use a strengths-based philosophy in the service delivery in order empower adults and their family caregivers to make informed decisions and choices about current needs and long-term care. Their services support adults 60 and over and their adult caregivers, regardless of age. Additionally, BCAAA has created an LGBT cultural responsiveness training program for senior care providers called “Project Visibility.” Trainings are offered at no charge, and a film and manual are available for purchase. BCAAA also publishes “The Silver Lining” directory of LGBT-friendly senior service providers.
