Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) older adults have many legal rights while in the care of a nursing home in New York State, including the right to be free from discrimination, neglect and emotional and physical abuse. This document is a list of questions and answers to help providers, clients and families know important legal rights as it pertains to LGBT older adults and housing in New York State.
