“We’re facing right now an unprecedented growth in the number of adults who are getting older who have been living the majority of their lives out of the closet. And as that population ages, there are a number of special circumstances that they're going to be facing that the majority of the aging population doesn't have to face."

This article features information regarding the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging and its director, Hilary Meyer. It describes the need for LGBT aging services, challenges that face LGBT older adults, and Meyer's overall vision for the National Resource Center. The article also highlights specific work that the Meyer and the National Resource Center are doing, including developing curriculum for both LGBT organizations and aging services providers.
